This is the Scouse Soul Stew Photo Blog
Scouse Soul Stew is an arts and health project taking place in various neighbourhoods in Liverpool over the summer 2009. The project aims to examine the ingredients of life in Liverpool that are important to the community, that enrich lives and nourish souls.
The project has been commissioned by Liverpool Primary Care Trust and is being led by UHC in partnership with Culturepool and Metal. Ultimately the engagement will analyse relationships between healthcare providers and the community, look at artist's approaches to communication and facilitation and create new work building on some of UHC's existing tools.
Events will be happening in various places and venues in July, with food and discussion. Each discussion will be facilitated and will be accompanied with an illustrator, who will be documenting the discussions pictorially. The outcomes of the discussions will be summarised in a recipe book with the illustrations and photographs as well as a piece of art based on the content of the discussions.
Based in 'action research', our work not only seeks to engage the audience in this community, but stimulate change and give real voice to local concerns.
